DRIVEWAYS.DONE DIFFERENTLY.
Custom residential driveways built for New England weather, heavy vehicles, and clean curb appeal — from new installation to full reconstruction.
RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY PAVING EXPLAINED.
Your driveway is one of the first things people see and one of the most used surfaces on your property. HER Asphalt installs residential driveways designed to handle New England freeze-thaw cycles, vehicle weight, and seasonal wear without premature cracking or settling.
We evaluate your existing surface, drainage patterns, and base condition before recommending the right approach — whether that's a new installation, resurfacing, or a full digout and reconstruction.
WHEN TO CONSIDER DRIVEWAY PAVING.
- Building a new driveway where none exists
- Replacing a cracked, settled, or alligatored surface
- Converting gravel to a clean, low-maintenance paved surface
- Resurfacing when the existing base is still structurally sound
- Full reconstruction when the base has failed or drainage is poor
HOW WE BUILD DRIVEWAYS THAT LAST.
A durable driveway starts underneath the asphalt. We assess your sub-base, confirm proper grade for water to shed away from foundations, and compact the base before any asphalt is placed.
Proper drainage is critical — water that pools or runs toward your foundation will undermine even the best pavement. We grade every driveway to channel water away from structures and toward appropriate drainage paths.

RECOMMENDATION
Determine whether resurfacing or full reconstruction is the right approach.
GRADING & BASE
Establish proper grade and compact sub-base for drainage and longevity.
PAVING & COMPACTION
Hot-mix installation with roller compaction and clean edge finishing.
WHICH APPROACH IS RIGHT?
Not every damaged driveway needs a full reconstruction — and not every driveway can be saved with a simple overlay. The right choice depends on your existing pavement and base condition.
RESURFACING
When your existing asphalt is worn or surface-cracked but the underlying base remains stable and properly graded, an asphalt overlay can restore appearance and extend surface life without full removal.
FULL DIGOUT & REPAVE
When the base has failed, drainage is poor, or the surface shows widespread alligator cracking or settling, a full digout removes the compromised material and rebuilds from the ground up.
We assess your site in person and recommend the approach that fits your conditions — not the one that's most profitable.
